Please note that, in Thailand, the railway system consists of four main routes departing from Bangkok and ensuring an easy and affordable transportation for all travelers, Thai or tourists.
The Northern Line connects the capital with Chiang Mai and passes through Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Phitsanulok.
The Northeastern Line connects Bangkok with Nong Khai and with Ubon Ratchathani via Nakhon Rachasima.
The Southern Line starts in Bangkok and goes all the way down to the far south in Sungai Kolok and passes via Hua Hin, Chumphon, Surat Thani and Hat Yai.
The Eastern Line, from Bangkok to Aranyaprathet, makes for a short and pleasant trip through Prachin Buri, Kabin Buri and Sa Kaeo towns.
