General Terms and Conditions of Sale of Our Service

All booking requests made through our company Tourist Information Centre Co., LTD via our website www.thailandtrain.in.th, whose commercial name is thailand train, will involve the full application of the following terms and conditions of sale.
By making a booking request via our website, you agree with thailand train acting under power-of-attorney in Thailand on your behalf.
thailand train‘s power-of-attorney are limited to booking and making payments on your behalf towards the train/buses/boat/private transfer companies involved in providing you with the required transportation booking.
Thus, thailand train will act as your agent in Thailand and for the services provided as such you will pay thailand train the administration (agent) fees as stated below in the “Prices and Administration Fees Policy”.

By making a booking request on our website, you accept our administration fees policy and our general terms and conditions of sale. 

1. PRICES AND ADMINISTRATION FEES POLICY

1. Prices

The total price that you will pay for your train tickets is made up of the following:

  • The cost of our booking service  with the possibility of a degressive discount (see table below).
  • The ticket(s) or other travel ticket(s) billed at the rate of the public price (*).
  • Children aged less than 3 years old and measuring less than 1 meter height will travel with their parents for free.
  • All prices are shown in Thai Baht (THB).

(*) For the total price to pay, including the ticket price, the shipping cost and our administration fee(s), please add the following bank charges: 11 THB for each payment + 4.61% of the total amount.

2. Administration fees policy

Our services are transparent and unambiguous. The shown prices are in Thai Baht (THB).

Our fees depend on the number of trips you want to book. For a better understanding, a trip equals to travelling to one direction and involves one administrative booking procedure. A round trip involves two trips, meaning two booking procedures/files, thus another administration (agent) fee.

2. PAYMENT

The payment is made via bank card in Thai Baht (THB).

The payment is handled by PayPal, thus ensuring the best available security.

You don’t need a PayPal account in order to pay via PayPal. If you don’t have a PayPal account or in case you have never used PayPal for payments, please click on the second option on the screen: “Pay with a credit card”.

If you do not give us any indication about how you wish to get your tickets, they will be available free of charge at our offices in Chiang Mai.

Despite our carefully handling of all of the ticket shipments, we cannot be held accountable for any additional delay or any other problems that may occur as a result of the implication of third parties organizations. In case of shipping at a third party, we strongly recommend that you verify their ability to receive our shipment and to further hand it over to you.

4. OUR SERVICES

You are in touch with the only French-Thai company to have been awarded the 4 Stars Certification (good service) from the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports. We were audited by the Tourism Department of the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Only about 40 travel agencies in Thailand received this award from a total of 4000 licensed agencies.

All the requests are manually handled and on a case by case basis during a 2 stage process. If you are part of a group of more than 10 passengers, please contact us.

We also offer other services: tickets for bus, boats, ferry, taxi and private mini-vans, trekkingeco-hiking with elephants, visits of the Thai northern tribes – the list is long, please contact us.

In absence of payment, you can buy your train tickets by yourself.

We cannot be held accountable for any timetable changes, delays, trains cancellations, problems or delays concerning the ticket shipment, our service being only about administering the booking and buying of train tickets in Thailand.

5. GUARANTEES AND REFUND POLICY

A. Reimbursement policy for the stage one of the booking administration fees:
  • In case of impossibility to travel by train on the required date: 50% (there are no trains anymore for the requested date, if the train route is under construction etc. ).
  • In case of impossibility to travel on the required date by any of our alternative transportation modes that we suggested for you: 75%
  • Without confirmation from you during the following 24 hours after our proposal or reminder, your request is closed and does not entitle you to any reimbursement.
  • Any other case: no refund.
B. Alteration, reimbursement or change of the train ticket

For the alteration, reimbursement, cancellation of train by the State Railway of Thailand, schedule or date modification: you need to go to a Thai train station office in person, have on you your passport (in original) and the train ticket. We cannot perform any modification or refund of the train tickets after buying them. The tickets being nominal (your name is printed on the ticket), an identity proof will be asked. The bank charges cannot be refunded.
